The Serzone® Lawsuit
The antidepressant Serzone® (nefazodone) is both a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) and a tricyclic. SSRIs treat depression by blocking the reabsorption of serotonin into the brain, while tricyclics treat depression by blocking the reabsorption of norepinephrine and serotonin. However, an increased incidence of complications among patients taking the drug has led many to file claims in the Serzone® lawsuit.
Serzone® Side Effects
As with any drug, there are side effects associated with Serzone® use. Side effects of Serzone® include:
- Nausea
- Dizziness

- Headache
In addition to these side effects, Serzone® has been linked to an increased risk of liver damage.
Consult a Serzone® Attorney
Although the FDA has not issued a recall of the antidepressant Serzone®, it has required that a black-box warning be placed on the label to indicate the connection between the drug and an increased risk of liver damage.
